Effective Pharmacotherapy
Effective Pharmacotherapy was written to provide a concise, pocket-sized reference of treatment alternatives for common adult diseases. It is based on Dr Walker’s extensie experience in providing information to physicians, nurses, and patients on treatment of disease.
Each chapter of Effective Pharmacotherapy begins with a brief summary of the most pertinent information in the chapter. The main text of the chapter contains descriptions of information for each treatment alternative, including efficacy, safety, and relative cost. Alternative medicine and non-drug treatments are included in the discussion of treatment alternatives. Whenever possible, evidenced based guidelines formed the core of a chapter’s recommendations. Original articles, meta-analyses, guidelines and systematic reviews were used to create the information. Recommendations have been extensively referenced. This allows the user to read the original articles for the expanded explanation of the summarized information. Effective Pharmacotherapy was published by Wolters Kluwer Heath in 2004 and distributed by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and Facts and Comparisons. The book is no longer in print. |
